Relationship Relflection

Relationship Reflection
Relationships are important to me because it bonds me with other individuals who may or may not enjoy the same things but who care and respect each other and are there for one another in good or difficult times. It is a wonderful feeling to be cared for and to care for others.
The main individuals I have relationships with is one, my oldest Granddaughter, Javon .
Javon is 17 years old and lives with me. She has lived with me for the past 5 years. She is enrolled in an Early College School here in Houston and attends Houston Community College working on her AA Degree which she will obtain in August of next year three months after she graduated from High School. I am extremely proud of her because along with all that she is accomplishing she has Systematic Lupus. She does not complain about her illness and does not let it stop her. She works on the weekends at a HEB grocery store as a cashier , has completed Drivers Education Classes ( thank GOD!) I can now sleep in on Saturdays now as she finished the driving part two weeks ago! I will truly miss her when she goes off to college next year.
Next are my other grandchildren there are 8 in all. I spend time with them often and wish the best for them as well.
Other relationships are that of my co- workers. We get along well together and have fun when we get together .I enjoy the time spent with them as I am an only child and have no other relatives in Houston but my grandchildren ,two daughters, and a son. I had a best friend who died two years ago and I truly miss him. He was a great person and helped everyone he came in contact with. Each of the relationships is positive and we respect one another as the individuals we are and even when on rare occasions when we disagree, we always respect one another and fix the problem and resume as if nothing happened.
I have learned over the years that good friends are hard to find and with any relationship it takes work if you intend to keep a long lasting friendship/relationship.
The way we get along even when there are differences of opinion makes us partner together to make sure the bond we have stays strong and we talk about any issues that concern us especially if there has been or we think there is going to be a difference of opinion.
I believe by understanding the different opinions of each individual and the ability to problem solve situations, is helpful in my line of work as I come in contact with a wide variety of people from all walks of life.

Personal Childhood Web

My grandfather was the person who I looked up to and did the most nurturingin my life .He was a great and wonderful man who gave more love to me in the 14 years that I knew him than I have gotten in my 50 years on this earth!.He influenced me in ways I don't even know but, he showed me love and understanding until the day he died.

I was his only granddaughter and although he was not an educated manfrom what society deems as educationbut, he was more knowledgeable than anyone I knew. I remember one particular day that I was practicing my clarinet, and was missing many notes , he listened and when I finished , he told me that it was wonderful! Now I knew I missed several notes, but just hearing him say that made me want to practice more so he would be proud of me.

His caring ways has made me be more compassionate towards others and when I am upset, I think of how calm he was in most situations.I never heard him raise his voice. I trully miss him and wish I would have had more time with him as I know the times in my life that were not so good ,he woukd have made them ok.

My aunt Melissa is the other person in my life who has encouraged me throughout my life even when I did not do what was always the best thing to do , she never showed her dissappointement, she woul always say "when you know better you do better". SHe nurtured me by saying nice things to me and enrolling me in programs that would help me be a well rounded individual such as girl scouts, ballet,music..These things has influenced my life by always striving to do better ,as I continueing my education.

My sixth grade Mr.Hampton was my science teacher who was a great person and teacher. He cared about all of his students. He would always take teh time to work with me if I had a problem whether at school or at home.He brought out my love or science that enabled me to win at a science fair where I represented the six grade class for the girls and I won first place.
